Brief

IMDb’s ad formats, such as billboards, video walls and mobile heroes, were designed in Sketch and then rebuilt by hand in code for every campaign. The plugin lets designers build ads from ready-made templates and publish them themselves.

My part

  • Designed and built the plugin, with a template for each ad format and guidelines for every editable part.
  • Added a preview that shows the ad inside a real IMDb page on different devices and screen sizes.
  • Publishing uploads the assets and returns the ad’s config and HTML, ready to traffic.
  • Added date overrides, so one creative can swap its assets on set dates, for example a new trailer on release day.

The work
